Wow did that book have a twist! It turns out that the guy that Kat got in the truck with when she was running away at sixteen was her biological father! Virgil (the crazy, abusive one) was a step dad! He hated kat all her life because he wanted a baby of his own with her mother but couldn't have one. He overheard Kat's mom talking to her real dad when Kat was four years old, and that is when the beating started. Kat never understood why it seemed like her dad didn't love her, and everything cleared up.Virgil decided that on Thanksgiving day that he wanted to get rid of Kat once and for all so he put a gun in his pants and walked to her house. he came in the door and pulled it out. Just has he was getting ready to shoot Madaline from the bed and breakfast came in the door and he pulled the trigger with the gun aiming towards her. She had a cake pan in her hands, and the bullet hit the pan and bounced back and hit Virgil in the forehead and killed him instantly.After everything got cleared with the police Kat said that she was gona move the stiff from her bungalow house into Riley's. The book then skipped ahead two years and Riley and Kat ended up having another baby. They named her Fiona, and they were a happy family with the four of them (Kat, Riley, Aiden, and Fiona)

This book was super good! I was actually kind of sad when it was over. I would recommend it to anyone who like a good romance novel with a happy ending. (:

Kat decided that she was going to go confront and talk to her father about all the wrong things he did to her when she was younger and ask for an apology and try and work everything out. When she knocked on the door there was no answer. She knocked several times before going to the back door, Riley trailing close behind her. when he finally answered the door he was covered in marble dust from working in his studio, and he was also very drunk. Kat told him that she had it in her heart to forgive him but just wanted to know why. Then she took his hand and kissed his cheek. She also invited him to her big Thanksgiving dinner she was planning. He looked at her and told her no in the rudest way possible, swore at her, and then violently tried to hurt her. Riley threw himself in the middle and separated them and told her dad that he needed to go to the hospital. His medications were reacting with the alcohol and putting him in a rage. He called Kat's aunt and told her to come and take him to the hospital, and they left. Kat's aunt Rita came over and told Virgil (Kat's dad) that she was here to take him to the hospital and he started yelling at her and told her that she was fat and ugly. Rita told him that she hated him, regrets everything that she ever did to help him, and never wanted to see him. All he did was call her a fat cow as she walked out the door.
Kat and Riley went back to her house and Aiden and his girlfriend Rachel were there, and Matt and Nola were there. They were talking and having a great evening.
I want to know if Kat and her dad will ever see eye to eye, and get along and forgive each other.

Kat has been getting the fundraiser up and ready and has come up with some ideas and a flier. She had her best friend Nola read it and she liked everything except for one thing. It said on the flier that Matt, Riley's brother, and Nola's boyfriend who she just recently moved in with was going to be auctioned off to go on a date with the high bidder. Nola was very upset with her and started saying that she was going to be the high bidder so that Madaline the owner of a bed and breakfast, and a woman that Matt had gone out with a couple of times, could not try and get him back. Just as she was saying this Madaline walked into the room to give Kat all the information she had put together. Madaline is trying to come up with a way to get Matt at the auction and be able to go on a date with him.
I can't wait to see what happens at the auction and who wins the bidding and if the fundraiser works and the health clinic opens.

About 84% through the book now. Kat has set up a fundraiser for the health clinic that is going to take place around Thanksgiving and she wants the community to give back to help get the health clinic up and running. Also Aiden has agreed to come to Kat"s house for thanksgiving and he is bringing his girlfriend with him.
I am curious to see how the thanksgiving dinner is going to play out with Kat, Riley, and Aiden all together at once under one roof. I can't wait to read more and see what happens.

Probably around page 280...kinda hard to tell on the Kindle

After the argument at the construction site, Kat jumped out of the truck and walked the whole two miles home. She was then laying in her bed when she realized that  Riley was so honest and open with her when it killed him that his house was almost in foreclosure and he still hadn't told his brother, and she only mad it harder on him. He was so open to her and she just made everything difficult. She then jumped up ran down the stairs and ran the whole way to Riley's house like she use to, and climbed up the back of the house and through his window just like when they were kids. He was there waiting for her with open arms. They discussed everything and forgave each other and decided that they definitely want everything to work out because they want a future together. Riley said that Kat had gave him everything by coming back to his house and forgiving him, but he still wanted one more thing; a baby. He wanted his chance to be a father from the beginning and not have to miss the first nineteen years of his child's life. Kat agreed.

I have trouble right now with putting page numbers on because i am reading this book on my Kindle. I am 78% through, and there are 340 pages. so probably around page 265 or so. But anyway Kat decided that since when she returned back to West Virgina the first time she didn't get to go confront her aunt, (her dad's sister) she would do that this time. She told her how cruel it was to kick her out of school when she was pregnant (her aunt is the principal) and how she should have been more understanding. Her aunt was rude, and reminded her so much of her abusive father. Aunt Rita gave her three boxes that her mother had wanted her to have if she ever returned home. She went back to her bungalow apartment, and started to open one. Then a big rush of memories came back to her and she started crying. Nola, her best friend, walked in and freaked out and called Riley, ,and sat and comforted her. Riley came and comforted her and she spilled out all the horrible memories of abuse. After Nola left with Riley's brother Matt, Riley said that he had a good idea and told her to go change and get some clothes that can get dirty on. They left and went by the construction site of the health clinic that Riley is building. He confessed to Kat about how much in debt he is and how the big family house might get foreclosed. Kat was shocked by this, but hen she began questioning if Riley brought Kat back down to West Virgina for her money. Riley and Kat then got into an argument, but were then interrupted by an old classmate that was working on the construction site.
